Importing Household Effects to the Philippines

Duty free entry can be obtained providing you hold the correct visa and have obtained a tax exemption from the Department of Finance within 90 days of your arrival.  If you have been away from the Philippines for a period of six months then you must apply for the same exemption, but may pay duty over and above your personal exemption of PhP10, 000. All consignments must arrive within 60 days of the shipper.

Restricted and Prohibited Items for the Philippines

It is recommended you do not include the following within your shipment:

• Firearms: ammunition and explosives unless licensed in advance
• Obscene literature, photographs or films
• Politically "undesirable” literature,
• Marijuana, poppy, cocoa leaves, heroin, opium, & other prohibited drugs,
• Foodstuffs
• Gambling machines & paraphernalia,
• Transceivers & perishable goods

Transit Times for the Philippines

LCL consignments (crated small volumes) along with dedicated containers can take on average 6 - 7 weeks but please note if your final destination is not on the main island, delivery may take longer.

Full containers can take 5 to 6 weeks from door to door and can be shipped through the major ports of Cebu, Davao and Manila.

Please note the above are estimated times and these can vary depending on weather conditions, port congestion or volumes of traffic to be shipped

Customs Clearance in the Philippines

Please allow 7 to 10 clear working days from the arrival of your goods for custom clearance.  All normal custom clearance charges are included in your relocation cost, but any additional custom charges or duties applied upon arrival, will be met by our overseas agent who will seek reimbursement from you prior to delivery.

Destination Services in Cebu, Davao and Manila

Once your goods have arrived and gone through custom clearance, you will be contacted by our agent who will arrange a convenient date for the delivery of your goods to your new home.

Top Tip When Moving To the Philippines

Ensure you have the correct documentation before organising your shipment and that you have the correct visa in place. 

Our agent in the Philippines will make contact with you before arrival of your goods to request you complete the necessary custom documentation to provide a trouble free clearance and delivery

Should you wish to insure the goods in transit you will need to ensure you have the Marine Insurance proposal form back with our team back here in the UK prior to the shipment of the goods.  Ideally you need to be in receipt of your certificate before the removal crew handle your goods.
