Moving To Germany With Appleyards

Transit Times For Germany

The transit time for a move to Germany is subject to the size of the consignment and the final delivery address.  A regular service to Germany can be provided to a lot of areas but the transit time can be dependent on whether you are moving as a part or ‘shared’ load or as a special – your own dedicated load.  A shared load is the most reasonable service we can provide but does require flexibility with regards to delivery dates.

Restricted Items For Germany

It is generally recommended that you do not import the following items to Germany: firearms, ammunition, inflammable goods, inflammable substances, plants, plant materials, and material of an offensive nature, perishables, alcohol, dangerous goods, and narcotics. 

It is also worth noting that there are restrictions in transporting some classes of goods across borders and within some countries.  It is now forbidden to travel through France in any vehicle carrying more than a very small amount of cigarettes or alcohol.

Top Tip When Moving To Germany

Deliveries to Europe are usually carried out on a large removal vehicle.  Make sure that when visiting your potential new home that you have a look at the space for parking and how close the parking is to the property.  Are there any parking permit requirements?  Restricted parking times?  Make sure that you discuss this with your remover to avoid any issues on the delivery day.
