Importing Household Effects into Cyprus

As Cyprus is now part of the EU, little documentation is needed prior to your relocation.  You do not have to be present when the goods arrive, although if shipping a car you must be in the country to assist with clearance. A small charge for port fees or an electrical goods tax may be payable upon arrival of the goods, this would be paid direct in Cyprus and not included in your relocation cost

Restricted and Prohibited Items for Cyprus

We would recommend the following items not be included in your shipment:

Firearms and ammunition, Inflammable goods and substances, Plants and plant material, Foodstuffs, perishables, Alcohol, or dangerous goods, Offensive material

Transit Times for Cyprus 

Groupage shipments can take between 6 to 9 weeks from door to door.
Full container shipments can take between 3 to 6 weeks.

The above are estimated times only and can vary dependent of the volumes being shipped, port congestion and weather conditions.

Customs Clearance in Cyprus 

Normal custom clearance usually takes 7 to 10 clear working days

All shipments pay Wharfage tax *The cost for household goods only in FCL's is approximately 70 Euro per 20 foot container and 130 euro per 40 foot container.

*Groupage is approximately 10-15 euro per cubm

All electrical items will be subject to an approximate cost of 7 euro per electrical item (white goods or computer equipment)

Destination Services In Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca

Should you select a door to door service,   the goods, once custom cleared will be delivered to your new home on a mutually convenient date?  All goods that have been packed and wrapped professionally will be unpacked and unwrapped at destination. 

If you have selected custom clearance and hand-out you will be contacted to collect the items from the agent’s warehouse in Limassol.

Top Tip When Moving To Cyprus

Cyprus is one of the few countries in the world where it may still be possible to book your  delivery date prior to the goods arriving at the port.
