Identify Your Packed Mirror

Identify Your Packed Mirror

How to pack mirrors without cracking them! Both plain and simple and ornate and fancy mirrors alike can be awkward to pack safely. That's why we try to help.

Below is some information that you should find very useful if you have mirrors to pack up for a move.

Consider This When Packing Mirrors

If your mirror is small enough to fit in a box simply wrap the mirror in paper and pack it upright into the carton. Two small mirrors can be packed back to back; or you can pack a mirror back to back with a similar sized picture. Ensure there is padded material at the base of the carton and you can use softer items such as soft toys, cushions or pillows to top off the box, thus protecting the mirrors from above.

If your mirror is large there are various ways it can be packed. It can either be export wrapped or bubble wrapped and then over carded in cardboard or protected by a normal removal blanket. Foam corners can be used to protect any smaller more delicate ornate parts. These cane be purchased from Appleyards packing material shop along with all other materials needed to pack a mirror of any size if you want to pack your own mirrors.

For very expensive or ornate guilt framed mirrors then it may be worth having a crate made that the wrapped mirror can be laid into. Ensure you mark on the outside of the crate that it contains as fragile mirror and it is to be kept upright. Mark which is the top of the mirror on the outside of the crate as well.

Top Tips When Packing Mirrors

Always pack and transport mirrors in an upright position as this will greatly reduce the chances of breakage and ensure you always write on the outer packaging to note that this is a fragile item and should be kept upright.
